Welcome to Cumbernauld Airport which is located conveniently on the outskirts of Cumbernauld, a large town with a population of around 50,000 people.

The airport started as a grass strip in 1966.  In June 1988 the runway was opened and on 11th August 1989 the custom built airport was officially opened by the then chairman of Cumbernauld Development Corporation...

The Airport facilities include:

• 820m x 23m asphalt runway
• DME/NDB facility
• Refuelling facilities:  Avgas 100LL, Jet A1
• Parking available
• Hangarage is available for aircraft up to King Air size        

Airport Opening Hours:
Summer 0900-1700  seven days per week
Winter     0900-1700  seven days per week and outwith these hours by prior arrangement.

Pilots’ Shop - Fully equipped and stocked by Pooleys
Opening Hours:  0900-1700 seven days per week

Airport Information

Cumbernauld Airport is conveniently located close to the central Scotland motorway network.

The Airport provides many services to both private and commercial clients, for pleasure and business. The Airport has a range of facilities including flying instruction, air charter and helicopter services.

The Airport is close to a number of hotels and excellent golf courses.  The Westerwood Golf Course was designed by Seve Ballasteros and Dave Thomas.

You can visit the historic attractions at Bannockburn, the William Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Edinburgh Castle. Not forgetting M& Ds theme park, Glasgow Science Centre, Edinburgh Festival, T in the Park, the Royal Highland Show and the Scottish Open.
