Cumbernauld Airport is located on the outskirts of Cumbernauld, a large town with a population of around 50,000 people.
The airport started as a grass strip in 1966. In June 1988 the tarmac runway was opened.
Located just off the M80 Cumbernauld Airport is conveniently located close to the central Scotland motorway network with ease of access to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Scotland's central Belt.
The Airport provides many services to both private and commercial clients, for pleasure and business and has a range of facilities including flying instruction, air charter and helicopter services.
The Airport is close to a number of hotels and the Westerwood Golf Course which was designed by Seve Ballasteros.
