Cumbernauld Airport is located conveniently within the central belt and within easy reach of both Glasgow and Edinburgh. The airport’s facilities include:

  • Self-service fuelling with both Avgas 100LL, Jet A1 and Jet A1 High Pressure.

  • FBO service for aircraft up to King Air 200 size.

HISTORY

While the airfield existed as a grass strip from as early as 1966, Cumbernauld Airport and the asphalt runway was opened by the Cumbernauld Development Corporation in 1988.

 

Now serving the 52,000 population of the town, the airport has provided a haven for pilots learning their trade from all over Scotland and is a proven and popular stop over for those journeying into the stunning Scottish highlands and beyond.

 

Located just off of the M80 motorway, the airport is within easy reach of both Glasgow & Edinburgh by car while Croy train station provides a fast and frequent rail service to both major cities.

 

Attractions nearby include the Seve Ballesteros designed Westerwood Golf Course and the renowned engineering marvel of the Falkirk Wheel, with the world famous Gleneagles Hotel & Golf Resort only a 40-minute drive away.
